Structural System Description

This project utilizes a Multi-story Spatial Rigid Frame system, specifically engineered for large cantilevers, irregular floor plans, and high-rise landscape structures.

  • Primary Columns: Circular Hollow Sections (CHS). CHS provides equal radii of gyration across all axes, offering superior compressive and anti-lateral bending performance against complex bi-directional wind loads and seismic shear forces in tall structures.
  • Floor Framework: A radial primary beam and circular secondary beam system utilizing high-frequency welded or hot-rolled H-beams. This forms a high-stiffness rigid diaphragm to effectively transfer horizontal loads.
  • Perimeter Beams: Curved steel beams manufactured using CNC stretch-bending processes to precisely match the building's exterior architectural curvature.
Design Criteria & Governing Loads

Our engineering team provides structural calculations based on local codes such as AISC 360, Eurocode 3, or GB 50017. Standard design parameters are evaluated as follows:

  • Dead Load: Includes the self-weight of the steel framework, floor deck system, and exterior facade/railing materials.
  • Live Load: Evaluated as a high-density crowd area for observation platforms, typically strictly designed at ≥ 5.0 kN/m².
  • Wind Load: Base wind pressure is calculated using a 50-year or 100-year return period, depending on the site's wind rose and topography. For cylindrical porous structures, wind vibration coefficients and shape factor adjustments are rigorously applied.
  • Thermal Stress: Crucial for projects in regions with high solar radiation and extreme temperature fluctuations. Thermal stresses caused by expansion and contraction are fully evaluated, integrating sliding bearings or slotted holes at critical nodes to release internal forces.

Welding Standard Complete Joint Penetration (CJP) butt welds meet 100% UT inspection; fillet welds strictly comply with AWS D1.1 or GB 50205 codes.
Node Design & Constructability

To address the on-site installation challenges of complex spatial structures, we enforce a strict "100% Prefabricated, Zero On-site Welding" methodology:

  • BIM Clash Detection: Utilizing Tekla Structures to generate LOD 400 fabrication models. This prevents spatial interference at complex joint intersections and automatically exports precision CNC machining codes.
  • Bolted Connections: 100% on-site assembly using Grade 10.9 large hex or Tension Control (TC) High-Strength Friction Grip (HSFG) bolts. This guarantees structural integrity while eliminating weld defects caused by adverse weather or high winds on site.
  • Positioning & Pre-assembly: Complex central radial nodes and circular splices undergo physical trial assembly or 3D laser scanning pre-assembly at our facility to guarantee a seamless, first-time fit during erection.
Corrosion Protection & Durability Systems

We provide customized coating solutions based on environmental corrosivity categories (ISO 12944) to ensure a prolonged, maintenance-free lifecycle:

  • Surface Preparation: All components undergo abrasive blasting to Sa 2.5 standard.
  • Standard Environments (C2/C3): Epoxy zinc-rich primer + epoxy micaceous iron oxide intermediate coat + polyurethane topcoat (Total Dry Film Thickness / DFT ≥ 150 μm).
  • Harsh Environments (C4/C5): For high-humidity tropical or coastal marine areas, we implement Hot-Dip Galvanizing (HDG) with a zinc layer thickness ≥ 85 μm, or utilize high-performance fluorocarbon coating systems.
