A shop or cafe has to look like a business, not a shed — which is the part most steel building quotes ignore. The frame is only half the job; the facade, the services and the comfort of the space decide whether the building works. These buildings are framed in Q355B or Q235B steel with a clear span, then finished to suit the business inside.
Steel does not limit what a commercial building looks like. The frame carries the loads and the facade does the rest, so the same structure can sit behind a glazed shopfront, a brick elevation or a panel system — whichever suits the street and the brand.
For a cafe or retail unit that means the frame is set out early, so the shopfront, signage and entrance fall where the design wants them rather than where the columns happen to be.
The interior is column-free, so the floor plan is open and can be fitted out for the business rather than around the structure.
Mezzanines can add storage, an office or a seating level over part of the floor, and the frame is designed so later changes — re-dividing a unit, adding a floor, taking one out — stay straightforward. Commercial tenancies change; the building should not have to.
The exterior can be clad in the material the project calls for:
Tell us the look you want and we detail the cladding to match, rather than handing you a default metal skin.
A commercial building has to take HVAC, electrical and plumbing without the fit-out fighting the structure, so those routes are planned into the frame and roof.
For running costs: insulation, a reflective roof and natural lighting can all be included, which cuts energy use in a space that is occupied every day. The finish is low maintenance compared with timber, and steel resists fire, pests and mould.
Frames are calculated for the wind, snow and seismic load at your site, not a default figure.
Components are prefabricated and assembled on site, which shortens the construction programme — a real consideration for a retail unit working to a lease deadline or an opening date.
Because the frame is bolted and modular, a later extension or modification is easy and inexpensive compared with masonry.
Steel is 100% recyclable, and the frame has scrap value at end of life rather than disposal cost.
Send these and we return a layout drawing, the section sizes and a price.
Components ship on steel pallets — a bracket welded from channel and angle steel, components stacked long-and-heavy at the bottom, rubber or timber separators between them so the finish is not rubbed through, and the bundle banded into a rectangular block for hoisting and container loading. Small parts go in cartons or crates.
Production typically runs 20–30 days depending on size and complexity.

Yes — HVAC, electrical and plumbing routes are planned into the frame and roof so the fit-out does not fight the structure.
Insulation, a reflective roof and natural lighting can all be specified, which reduces energy use in a space occupied every day.
One year of after-sales service is provided following project completion.
Production is typically 20–30 days. Detailed drawings are supplied; an engineer or our overseas installation team can supervise erection on site, with travel and living costs covered by the buyer.
