Product Description
Corrosion Resistant Pre-Engineered Steel Workshop
A pre-engineered steel workshop built for sites where steel corrodes: coastlines, chemical plants, humid climates and livestock buildings. The frame is welded H-section steel in Q235 or Q355 carbon structural steel, blasted and coated to a stated film thickness before it leaves the workshop.
Paint System – Why Film Thickness Matters
"Painted" means nothing on its own. What decides how long a workshop lasts on a coastal or chemical site is the surface preparation and the dry film thickness (DFT) of the coating.
Our standard finish: shot blasting to Sa2.5, then primer at 75 µm DFT, then topcoat. For more aggressive environments – salt spray, chemical fumes, ammonia – we move to epoxy primer or hot-dip galvanizing instead of a heavier paint film.
Film thickness is checked with a gauge and recorded, so you can verify it on arrival rather than taking our word for it.
Frame and Steel
  • Main frame: welded steel structure frame, fabricated and welded in the workshop
  • Steel: carbon structural steel, Q235 or Q355, or the grade your drawing specifies
  • Purlins: C or Z sections
  • Site connections: bolted – no site welding
A lighter frame carries the same span as a heavier one when the sections are chosen for the load, which keeps the foundation and the freight bill down.
Roof and Wall
  • Roof cladding: steel sheet or sandwich panel
  • Insulation: optional – EPS, rock wool or PU, 50-150 mm
  • Windows: aluminum alloy or PVC
  • Doors: sliding or rolling
Roof and walls are also available in a heavier gauge or with a coated finish where the site is exposed.
Where This Building Suits
  • Coastal sites and salt air
  • Chemical plants, fertiliser stores and plating shops
  • Food processing and cold storage
  • Livestock and poultry buildings – ammonia attacks bare steel faster than weather does
  • Sites that stay humid all year
For these locations galvanizing or a heavier paint system is worth the extra cost. We will tell you when it is, rather than selling a thin paint job that fails in three years.
Service and Maintenance
Technical support is free: design customisation, structural checks and compliance advice.
An installation guide, maintenance manual and troubleshooting documents come with the building. If you want it, we set up a periodic maintenance schedule – checking and recoating before rust starts is far cheaper than repairing after it has.
What We Need to Quote
  1. Location – country, city, and whether the site is coastal or industrial
  2. Building use – workshop, warehouse, processing, livestock
  3. Size – length * width * eave height, and number of storeys
  4. Loads – wind speed, snow load, seismic zone
  5. Coating – standard paint system or galvanized; tell us if the site is aggressive
  6. Roof and wall – sheet or sandwich panel, and insulation thickness
  7. Doors, windows, and any crane
Design is free. Send these and we return a drawing, a coating specification and a price.
Packing and Delivery
Members are wrapped in anti-rust material with foam padding and bundled so edges are not knocked in transit. Packing is adapted to sea, air or road freight as required, and packing lists travel with the shipment.

Frequently Asked Questions
What coating system do you use?
Shot blasting to Sa2.5, then primer at 75 µm DFT, then topcoat. For aggressive sites we use epoxy primer or hot-dip galvanizing instead.
How do I verify the coating thickness?
Film thickness is measured with a gauge and the readings are recorded. You can re-check on arrival with your own gauge.
Which steel grade is used?
Carbon structural steel Q235 or Q355, or a higher grade where the drawing specifies one.
Is the building certified?
CE and ISO. Third-party inspection can be arranged before shipment.
Is insulation included?
Optional. EPS, rock wool or PU sandwich panels at 50-150 mm, or single steel sheet where insulation is not needed.
What maintenance does it need?
A visual check of fixings and coating once a year, and touch-up where the coating is damaged. A maintenance manual comes with the building.
